I grew up in the midwest in Indiana.  My father took me to my first musical concert at the State Fair in Indianapolis.  That first live concert was the Beatles, and that experience changed my life.  

Like many others who were fortunate enough to experience that phenomenon, it had a profound impact on me and I found my first guitar under the Christmas tree at age 15.  Like so many others I found someone to teach me guitar, and he formed a rock band with me.  Over the years the music and bands went from rock, to country, to Americana, and to fingerstyle solo expression, and back to folk rock.

After decades of service in the financial industry, I am now a retired CPA  seeking to find activities that provide a challenge.  I found that challenge in building acoustic guitars and acoustic bass guitars.  Under the tutelage of O'brien guitars, I developed luthier skills that have led to a passionate/hobby business.  That brings me to what's next.  I want to continue my passion but need to move guitars to make room enough to do so.  Nothing gives me more pleasure and pride than the absolute joy of one of my customers playing one of my creations.  This is the foundation of Hudkins Guitars.
