"After playing a Taylor for years, I was lucky to have Mike build me a custom dreadnought in a Martin fashion, but with a smaller neck to better fit my hand. The big, warm tone of this guitar is impressive and the presence it has on stage and in the studio is delightful."

"I got an email from my friend Mike Hudkins two years ago informing me that he was going to start building acoustic guitars, and wanted to do one for me. It was going to be a learning experience for Mike. He listened to me regarding the model I was interested in, the neck profile, etc. He warned me that he was still learning and to expect to see some "goobers". Imagine my surprise when I received one of the best sounding and playing acoustic guitars I have ever owned. It is a J45 style with a bear claw top. He even installed a K&K Pure Mini pickup! And I am planning on having him build a 000 for me sometime over the winter!"

"I have a Hudkins guitar that is next to my music workstation every day as a handy go-to or just for relaxing and enjoying some guitar time. It is a beautiful instrument featuring the rich, red hues of Padauk wood. It plays great and has a strong, full sound. It is a unique guitar in my collection and is always fun and inspiring to play. Highly recommend!"

"I’m the lucky owner of a beautiful 000 size steel-string acoustic guitar that Mike Hudkins built for me in 2023. It has hand-selcted Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Torrified Sitka Spruce top and a Mahaogany neck. Each assembly was tap-toned during the build to try to develop the best volume and tone. The K&K Pure Mini pickup sounds great. The hand built craftsmanship and care that Mike put into this build is obvious when you first strum a chord on this magical guitar. There is so much tone coming from the guitar itself that it even sounds good with worn-out strings, a trait I’ve only experienced in one or two other guitars in my 50+ years of playing. I have used this instrument several times with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and also many times in the recording studio for various projects. Thank you, Mike!"

"Last year, I received a custom made left-handed acoustic bass guitar and hard shell case from Michael Hudkins with Hudkins Guitars. The workmanship was perfect. The tone, details, and finish are spot on. They also included a pickup if I wanted to use an amp. Having played professionally for years, it has definitely rekindled my interest in playing. I would highly recommend Hudkins Guitars if you want a true custom made experience."

"I never expected to love another guitar after playing a vintage Martin for decades, but the sound quality and beauty of the hand-crafted, custom made Hudkins Guitar is perfectly suited to the Bluegrass music I love to play. I am honored to own and play it!"
